ABOUT
POMAA

A photograph of Pomaa

Seamlessly combining honeyed, warm vocals with dreamy, psychedelic arrangements, Pomaa is an expert in musical balance.

“This collection of songs reflects on relationships that may come to an end prematurely whilst still having hope that they will continue. I feel like the phrase bridge to somewhere really encapsulates that feeling of an unpredictable future

Pomaa
’s debut EP Bridge To Somewhere is out now. The five-track collection was written in a time of flux, and inspired by the many ways in which relationships had to shift and change with the onset of the pandemic. Lead singles, Back In Time & Wide Eyed, were well received, garnering airplay on PBS, RTRFM, Edge Radio and 3CR as well as Spotify playlisting spots from AIR, The Australian Music Scene, TheMusic.Com.Au and The Underground Stage.

These releases are a follow-up to Pomaa’s debut single I Can’t Wait Til This Doesn’t Matter . Having been warmly received by critics; Dana Scully of 4ZZZ described the track as “Aldous Harding from the era of Cocteau Twins,” while Triple J and Triple J Unearthed Radio supported the release with positive reviews and airplay.

Wide Eyed

An arrow icon, pointing down

Outside the streetlights shine
Blocking out your dark side
You stand there and watch cars go by
You stand there wide eyed

And it's just a feeling I don't want to feel
And it's just a memory I don't want to be real
Be real
Be real

Inside all the colours combine
Merging all that's left behind
You sit there and watch me cry
You sit there wide eyed

And it's just a feeling I don't want to feel
And it's just a memory I don't want to be real
Be real
Be real

Opening eyes to sunshine
Forget all of last night
You lay there, try to apologize
But I see through your wide eyes

And it's just a feeling I don't want to feel
And it's just a memory I don't want to be real
And it's just a feeling I don't want to feel
And it's just a memory I don't want to be real
Be real
Be real
Be real
Be real

Back In Time

An arrow icon, pointing down

You need a lighter
And a stiff drink
The only things that
Help you think
These are the good days
You swear they are
But then you think you
Haven't come far

And you wanna go back, you feel alone
You wanna go back to where you're known
You wanna go back to your prime
You wanna go back, back in time

The sirens sound in the distance
"Get your life back and feel alive"
I talk you down but you don't listen
Saying "this is how you survive"

Do you remember
When you were young
Life seemed long and
So much fun
But now you’re sat here
In this small bar
Look in the mirror
And ask who you

And you wanna go back, you feel alone
You wanna go back to where you're known
You wanna go back to your prime
You wanna go back, back in time

The sirens sound in the distance
"Get your life back and feel alive"
I talk you down but you don't listen
Saying "This is how you survive"

And you wanna go back, you feel alone
You wanna go back to where you're known
You wanna go back to your prime
You wanna go back, back in time

Yeah, you wanna go back, it's no surprise
Everyone feels this way sometimes
You wanna go back to your prime
You wanna go back, back in time

Witchflower

An arrow icon, pointing down

Rest your head on my shoulder
Place your worries in my hand
Soon it'll all be over
Soon you'll feel safe again

And oh
When we grow old
Not the same life that we were sold
So take it in now
No need to look for a witch's flower

Things that happened before
Won't come around again
There's always a door
To step through and ascend

There's always a better day
Just walk my way
It'll be okay
There's always a better day

Doing It Right

An arrow icon, pointing down

Let's go for a drink
It's been far too long
You say that you've missed me and I'm
Ready to play along
We'll wave to each other
Hold our bodies tight
Anyone who'd see us would say we're
Doing it right

Let's skip all the small talk
No one's here for that
Waiting for the details to
Remember what I lack
We've had five or six now
Close to midnight
Stay another hour cause we're
Doing it right
Doing it right

What once was ours
Is no more
Can’t go back we’ve
Been there before

Fall into bed
Staring at the walls
I said that I loved you now I'm
Not too sure
I'll stay up for hours
Toss and turn all night
Trying to convince myself we're
Doing it right
Doing it right

Outro

An arrow icon, pointing down

Here we are
Under clouded sky
What once was a dark
Begins to shine
But the line you crossed
Made bridges burn
I play it back
But won't return

So I'll let it go
Yeah I'll let it go

I'll let you go this time
Won't let it show this time
Be on my own this time
And time again

I never know which side
That you will show this time
Just let it go
So something new grows
In time
In time

I can't wait til this doesn't matter

An arrow icon, pointing down

The sun it rises slowly
But my mind is moving fast
Stepping on the eggshells of my past
Why did I say that to them?
Why didn't I say enough?
Why did they have to go calling my bluff?

I can't wait 'til this doesn't matter
I can't wait 'til this doesn't matter

A minuscule moment
Of an uneventful life
Echoes in the chambers of my mind
And I just lie here wond'ring
When this feeling will subside
Torturing myself day and night

I can't wait 'til this doesn't matter
I can't wait 'til this doesn't matter

The days are so long
The night is so cold
It's starting to old
I'm trying to move on
You know it ain't so
It's starting to get old

I can't wait 'til this doesn't matter
I can't wait 'til this doesn't matter
I can't wait 'til this doesn't matter
I can't wait 'til this doesn't matter
